About
I'm Stu Clott.
I first started automating back in 2012. I'll never forget the moment I connected QuickBooks and MailChimp through Zapier while running my own bicycle shop, a light bulb went on. Completely independent software tools could be connected together.
I owned that shop for ten years, automating a little more every year: the marketing, the intake process, the customer satisfaction process. I loved business, even when I wasn't in love with the industry. That decade taught me what small business actually feels like, not from a textbook, from the ground up.
In 2020 I started an operations consulting business, and four years ago I joined Positive Intelligence, starting as an account specialist, promoted to sales ops manager after a month, and to director of operations after two years. I built the forecasting systems, the AI dashboards, and 500+ automations that reclaim hundreds of hours a year.
On a personal level, I have a wonderful wife and two happy, healthy children who are the center of my life. Outside of work, I spend time working on my cars, getting out on the racetrack, and sim racing, which probably explains why I care so much about performance, feedback loops, and continuous improvement. It's the same instinct that makes me an operations guy: I like taking things that feel scattered or overwhelming and organizing them into systems that make sense. That instinct shows up at work and outside of it.
I'm based in San Diego, CA, and available for remote and on-site partnerships.
On the side, I've always kept serving small businesses, because that's a true passion. And when AI started doing more than just chat, everything clicked: someone who understands how the back end of software works can now build specific programs with an AI agent. No engineering degree required.
The programs I build have very little AI in them at the end, the data movement is deterministic and rock solid. AI is the small piece that summarizes, drafts, and understands. Low maintenance, low risk, high reward.
I'm a moving billboard for AI, but I don't see it as the end game. It's just a tool to make our lives more efficient. The goal was never the tool. The goal is the life.

Santee, CA, my favorite people.
