How do we get data if we don’t have any?

If you are just starting out or have been running your business with the paper notebook, it is time for you to make that leap into the data mindset.

So let’s start off small… you can send a friendly survey with just a few questions. This is a fabulous way to understand how your customers view your business and also understand what they are looking for your business to do for them. This simple form will start feeding your company with data and will also paint a clear picture of what direction to create your next survey.

Looking for little more data? Another thing that helps databases grow is making sure your customer journey is fully documented. From the time the customer finds who you are, to the time they leave you a review. The time between all these steps is mandatory to document. This is priceless data which is going to tell you how your customer viewed the journey, and not just how your company views the journey.

These two these examples are just a few things to think about as you begin to collect data. Don’t worry about organizing the data at the beginning. That can all be done at a later date. The important is gathering the data because the future of your business depends on it.
